THURSDAY’S ARTIST: Otto Dix
THURSDAY’S MISCELLANEOUS ARTIST:
I am sure you have probably heard of Otto Dix but if not, I will give you a little bit of background. Dix was a German painter who was born in 1891. He definitely was not a traditional painter in his time.
What I personally love about his work is his satirical point of view of the people he painted. He wasn’t interested in just painting a pretty picture, he painted how he truly saw someone.
“All art is exorcism. I paint dreams and visions too; the dreams and visions of my time. Painting is the effort to produce order; order in yourself. There is much chaos in me, much chaos in our time.” -Otto Dix
